You can book your stay in Barceló Maya Colonial and or flight through many websites but here are our recommendations:

Flights from New York City (JFK) to Cancun (CUN) are approximately 3 hours non-stop. There are plenty of airlines that fly to Mexico daily. Some airlines we used are Aeromexico, Interjet, Delta & Jetblue.

The resort (Barcelo Maya) is about 1 hour away (49 miles) from Cancun airport. Taxi, car rentals and shuttles are available.

You can book a shuttle to and from the resort directly on the resort’s website or through other travel agencies.

When you book a shuttle through a travel agency, they should send you the shuttle name and information. Barcelo’s shuttles should have the resort’s name on it.

All shuttles and representatives are outside the airport. Once you are outside there will be many people trying to get their visitors, but rest assure all of them carry a list of names and make sure they take you to the right hotel. Since there are multiple shuttle agencies they all wear matching shirts and signs based on the agency.
